-I personally actually enjoyed finding and writing about all of the articles. They are all about crime which i find to be very interesting and entertaining. It always catches my eye and wonder how some of the people can do what they do.
-The article i liked reading about was "German youth got smarter". I was happy to find out that it had its lowest % of teens that smoke.
-What surprised me were all the different articles that each student found from either Germany, Swiss, etc. I found out a lot of interesting things.
-There's really not much with this project that i would change. I like doing what we do now. Also I like how we switch it up and not just find articles from Germany.

Taxi robber suspect tracked down 10 years on
A 39 year-old-woman was finally caught and arrested for robbing and injuring a taxi driver in 2001. Cold case investigators double-checked DNA databases and unsolved crime cases. The victim also took part in a burglary in 2004. She denies both of the crimes still even though she got caught with both of them.
In my opinion, the woman should just own up to what she did because obviously they caught her. She is still going to get punished no matter what, if she denies it or not. Hopefully she will go to jail for a bit since she has prior records. I know these type of crimes in the U.S., the victim would be doing some jail time.

Vienna teen missing for weeks
Karin P. has been missing for about one month. She never returned after leaving her house on January 10th. She has black hair and is 15 years old. She occasionally phoned her family after the day she went missing but she would never use her own mobile device. Her parents have asked her multiple times to meet her but the girl would never show up. They haven't heard from her since February 5th.

This investigation is interesting because it could go different ways. Its nothing out of the ordinary because i'm sure this happens everywhere. Maybe she had some issues with her parents that she never discussed that caused her to run away. Someone she knows or some random person also could have threatened her and told her to runaway from home or something bad will happen. It's also weird she wouldn't call her parents from her own cellphone then all the sudden she stopped keeping in touch with them.

Woman shoots boyfriend in the face with a shotgun
http://www.austriantimes.at/news/General_News/2010-12-22/29290/Woman_shoots_boyfriend_in_face_with_shotgun
A 22 year old woman shot her boyfriend with a shotgun in the face. Although she said she didn't mean to kill him. After she shot him she called the ambulance and when they came she turned herself in. She told them she bought the gun a couples weeks back and thought the gun had been loaded with plastic bullets. She is now being held in custody.
Although this is a crime that can or has taken place all around the world, i still find it to be interesting. I don't know why she would think the shotgun would be loaded with plastic bullets. Or why she would even take it out and shoot it at her boyfriend anyway. There is definately a reasoning behind all of this and i am sure the crime will be figured out eventually and she will be put in jail for killing her boyfriend.

Swiss schoolboys given lengthy sentences after Munich rampage
http://www.dw-world.de/dw/article/0,,6255898,00.html
In this article it discusses three schoolboys getting arrested while on a trip in Munich. They were in the German City at the time they beat up five random passengers. They had alcohol and marijuana in their systems. One of the boys was given seven years. The other two got 58 and 34 months in prison. The passengers had severe injuries.
This crime that took place in Germany is similar to American crimes. There are always teenagers or young adults feeling the need to start stuff for no reason. They get the pleasure of beating people up who have done nothing to them. It is good they go to court for it and spend some time in jail to make them think a little. Although jail doesn't really teach them anything, they are just spending time away from the outside world.

The Demjanjuk trial one year on
The article I read talks about a trial that has taken place for about a year now. In 1943, at the Sobibor death camp, John Demjanjuk was accused of helping to murder about 28,000 jews. Today, he is 90 years old and still denying the charges. The article also said his case might be the last major Holocaust trial in Germany. John Demjanjuk has poor health so the court only meets with him three hours a day and sometimes dozes off at the hearings. The Munich trial will continue until at least March of 2011.

In my opinion, i think it is a little too late now that he is being put on trial for something that happened in 1943. He is also 90 years old so they can't do much with him since he is so old. I guess they just want him to admit what he did instead of denying. In the American culture this would have been taken care of a long time ago though and he would have gotten punished for what he did. I think the German culture might be a little more laid back than we are.
